General Directions:  Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back details until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.  Reminder:  In this technique, sometimes more than one coat of translucent is necessary so between each coat, the color must be sprayed to protect the first layer.

Technique

1.        Apply Black TL to all stones, chimney flue, roof and beacon housing.  Wipe highlights on stones and roof.  Spray.  Randomly drybrush a few stones around house with Mink, Brick Red, Wedgewood Blue and Light Gray.  Lightly highlight stones with Light Gray then tip into White to further highlight large rocks.

2.        Lightly drybrush beacon housing, excluding roof, and house roof with a brush mix of Flat Black and White making a gray tone.  Tip into White to add highlights on all areas including chimney flue.

3.        Apply one coat of Black Forest to grass.  Spray.  When dry, apply a second coat and wipe back highlights.  Highlight grass with Sunflower and Tangelo.  Spray.

4.        Use 2 coats of Gold Doe Skin on base of tower wiping highlights between coats and spraying to set TL.  Lightly drybrush with Mink then tip into White to further highlight adding more highlights where stones meet brick.

5.        Apply 1 coat of Gold Doe Skin to eaves on house, all window trims (including tower windows), chimney trim and door trim (inner most and outer most).  Spray.  Lightly drybrush with Light Gray then tip into White to further highlight.

6.        Apply 1 thin coat of Cocoa Twinkle to all remaining brick trim and doors.  Lightly wipe highlights on brick only.  Spray.  Now apply 1 thin coat Holiday Red.  Spray.  Drybrush brick with Brick Red then tip into Orange Rust to add highlights.  With same brush, tip into Orange Peel and Brightest Yellow to further highlight.

7.        Use a second coat of Cocoa Twinkle on doors and window corners.  Spray.  Lightly drybrush with a brush mix of Orange Rust and Brightest Yellow. Paint door trims and all window frames with Flat Black.  Very lightly drybrush all window frames with Light Gray.

8.        Apply several coats of White Cloud to tower middle and top trim.  Spray between each layer.  Drybrush White as needed to even out color.

9.        Lightly drybrush roof of beacon housing, roof caps, and dormers with Sculptured Bronze.  With same brush, tip into Glorious Gold then into Shimmering Silver to add highlights to roof caps and trims of beacon housing.

10.     Apply Hi-Gloss Sealer to door trims, all window frames and beacon housing.
