General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque. Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail. When dry, apply another coat of undiluted White. Allow to dry. Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back details until entire piece is covered. Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights. Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL. Reminder: In this technique, sometimes more than one coat of translucent is necessary so between each coat, the color must be sprayed to protect the first layer. Technique 1. Apply Black translucent to all stone areas. Wipe back to highlight; spray. Randomly apply Light Umber, Light Gray, Wedgewood Blue and Brick Red to stones on base and bridge. Very lightly highlight these areas with Light Gray. With same brush, evenly drybrush trim stones of bridge then tip into White to highlight. 2. Apply one coat of Black Forest to grass. Spray. When dry, apply a second coat and wipe back highlights. Highlight grass with Sunflower and Tangelo. Spray. 3. Apply 2 coats of Walnut to footboards. Spray between coats. Lightly drybrush boards with Medium Mocha then tip into Golden Ochre to define travel path. Using same brush, tip into Ivory Tusk to further highlight path. 4. With brush used for Walnut, apply a light coat to bricks under bridge. Spray. Use brush from Black TL and pull up from bottom to add shadows. Spray. Evenly drybrush with Medium Mocha then highlight with Light Umber. Tip into Ivory Tusk to further highlight. |
