General Instructions:  Begin with properly cleaned and fired 04 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece, scrubbing into all detail.  When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights for an overall even look to antiquing.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.  For ease in painting, do not attach the porch posts or roof until all painting is complete.  However, make sure you do fire the posts and roof in place to obtain a perfect fit.

Technique:

1.   Apply Sable to clapboards, underside of porch roof, and to the stones on the foundation of the house and the porch posts.  Wipe back using solvent.  Randomly paint various stones on the foundation and porch posts with Dresden, Slate Gray, Sable, and Brandied Raspberry.  Do not wipe back.  Spray and let dry.

2.  Drybrush the clapboards and stipple the underside of the porch roof with Vanilla Ice.  Add Eggshell to your brush and drybrush the clapboards.  Add White to highlight.

3.  Apply Black TL to all trim, shingles on the roofs and to the stones on the bottom of the base.  Wipe back.  Randomly paint various rocks with Dresdon, Sable, Slate Gray, and Brandied Raspberry.  Do not wipe back.  Spray and let dry.

4.  Drybrush the cedar shakes in the roof gables with Medium Gray.  Highlight with Vanilla Ice.  Drybrush both the porch and house roof with Burgundy, then lightly drybrush with Red.  Add Orange to your brush and highlight.  Drybrush the ridge vent, trim and valleys on the roofs, and corner posts on the house with Copper.  Apply Gold to same areas for more effect.

5.  Stipple the porch floor with Slate Gray.  Add Medium Gray to brush and stipple.  Add Vanilla Ice and stipple more, making sure that the other colors show through.  Add more Vanilla Ice to highlight the corners of the porch.

6.  Carefully drybrush all shutters and doors with Red.  Paint all window frames and door frames with Cherokee Tan.  Carefully apply Black and blot.  Spray and let dry.  Paint the door handles and hinges with Gold.

7.  Apply Black Forest to the grass and blot to remove excess color.  Add Tangelo and Sunflower to highlight.  Spray and let dry.
