General Directions:
Begin with properly cleaned and fired
06 bisque. Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.
When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White. When dry, apply
Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is
covered. Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back highlights for an
overall even look to antiquing. Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.
Technique
1.
Apply Black TL to the cobblestones and sidewalk. Wipe back highlights to
a dark gray color with Solvent. Spray. Randomly drybrush a few stones with
Light Gray, Mink, Wedgewood Blue and Brick Red. Highlight sidewalk with Light
Gray then further highlight with White.
2.
Apply White Cloud to the entire building and attachments. Be sure to get
into all detail to dull down blue; this will leave a light blue look over the
entire piece. Spray. Evenly drybrush entire building with White.
3.
Apply Holiday Red to all doors, round windows and 3 large windows in
rear. Spray. Lightly drybrush with Burgundy.
4.
With Gold Blending Media, apply 2 coats to pillars, all “lights” and
trims on signs. Spray. Do not spray after this step; all remaining colors are
self-sealing.
5.
Drybrush all white areas with Oyster. Paint doorframe, skylight and
remaining windows with Flat Black. Detail door with Flat Black.
6.
For all black areas, drybrush with Sculptured Bronze evenly then tip into
Glorious Gold to highlight. Add extra highlights to the skylight then lightly
drybrush all details above and below all windows and around doors. For added
extras, with a liner brush add accents with Glorious Gold to highest details in
these same areas.
7.
Paint small running lights with Burgundy. Paint triangle lights with
alternate colors of Ice Blue and Crystal Green as desired. Detail sign as
desired.
8.
Use Hi-Gloss Sealer for small running lights, all red windows, signs,
doorframes and doors. If desired, add vellum to skylight for a frosted look or
specific color.
