General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White.  When dry, apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back highlights for an overall even look to antiquing.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.

Technique

1.        Apply Black TL to the cobblestones and sidewalk.  Wipe back highlights to a dark gray color with Solvent.  Spray.  Randomly drybrush a few stones with Light Gray, Mink, Wedgewood Blue and Brick Red.  Highlight sidewalk with Light Gray then further highlight with White.

2.        For the window frames, rooftop (excluding bands on dome) and door, mix Golden Twinkle and Black TL on brush.  Apply this mixture to these areas for an old bronze look.  The door should be a bit lighter in value.  Spray.  Add details to the door with Flat Black.  Drybrush lightly with Shimmering Silver and Copper Penny.  Drybrush “patina” with Turquoise then highlight rooftop with Angel Blue.

3.        Use Antique Ivory on the furthest inset of the building.  Spray.  Apply 2 coats of Ginger Oak to this area.  Spray.  Very lightly drybrush highlights with Lt Yellow Orange.  This should still be a darker area yet have highlight in the middle.

4.        Apply 2 coats Ginger Oak to brick areas, pillar middles, top trim, eagle relief and dome stripes.  Spray between each coat and wipe back highlights from second coat before spraying.  Lightly drybrush with Mink then tip into White to very lightly highlight.

5.        Use Peach Cameo for the band on rooftop, detail areas beside windows and furthest set “roman numerals.” Spray.  Lightly drybrush with Orange Rust; tip into Rich Peach to highlight.

6.        For remaining “roman numerals”, steps and tops of pillars, use Dresden then lightly stipple with Peach Cameo for a bit of a marble effect.  Spray.  Lightly highlight with Peach.

7.        Apply Coal Gray to remaining areas including bottom of pillars.  Spray.  Lightly drybrush with Medium Gray then tip into Light Gray to highlight.  With same color still in brush, tip into White to further highlight.

8.        Add detail to pillars and middle eaves with Dark Brown.
