General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White.  When dry, apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back highlights for an overall even look to antiquing.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.

Technique

1.        Use Black TL on sidewalk and cobblestones.  Wipe back highlights; spray.  If needed, apply a second coat to achieve a dark gray value; spray.  Lightly drybrush sidewalk with Light Gray to make it look like a heavier “walk path.”  Randomly drybrush cobblestones with Light Gray, Brick Red, Wedgewood Blue and Mink.

2.        Apply Bay Blue to all roof areas, eaves, center details of windows, rear door, column bases, sign trim- including on front of building, round window frames on ends of building and top detail of round window in rear.  Wipe back detail on roof areas.  Spray.  Apply a second coat to roof areas; wipe detail and spray.

3.        Lightly drybrush all roof areas with Wedgewood Blue, then tip into White to further highlight.  Drybrush the remaining blue areas with Regal Purple to achieve an even tone.  With the same brush, tip into Dusty Violet to add highlights, then into Hushed Violet to further highlight.  Paint the trim on the back door with Hushed Violet.

4.        Use 2 even coats of Gold Doe Skin for brick on body of the building.  Wipe back highlights on building between coats and spraying.  Lightly drybrush highlights with Portrait then tip into Eggshell to further highlight.

5.        Apply 3 coats of Forest Green to flat edges of windows, front door and detail above square windows.  Even out green value by lightly drybrushing with Accent Green then tip into Country Sage to highlight.  Tip into Limeburst to add final twinkle.  Paint trim on front door with Yellow Green.

6.        Lightly drybrush all remaining window frames and details above round windows on ends with Eggshell, then paint frames with White.  Lightly drybrush details on ends with White.

7.        Paint the turret tops, door handles and detail, and dash details in window frames with Flat Black.  Spray.  Add metallic details as desired with Copper and Glorious Gold.  Paint sign as desired with Flat Black.
