General Directions:
Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06
bisque. Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.
When dry, apply another smooth coat of undiluted White. Allow to dry. Apply
Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is
covered. Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights for
an overall even look to antiquing. Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.
Technique
1.
Apply Black TL to all the cobblestones, doors, dirt, foundation stones,
window frames on dormers and arch windows. Wipe back highlights. Randomly
drybrush a few cobblestones with Wedgewood Blue, Mink, Brick Red and Light Gray.
2.
Apply Black Forest to the grass. Gently wipe back highlights and spray. Further
highlight with Sunflower and Tangelo. Spray. If needed, lightly drybrush
highlights with Marigold.
3.
Apply Golden Twinkle to roof. Gently wipe back highlights and spray.
Lightly drybrush with Golden Ochre. Tip into Marigold to highlight then tip
into White to further highlight.
4.
Drybrush all doors with Chocolate. Tip into Golden Ochre to highlight
then into White for further highlight. Paint all cross boards and hinges Flat
Black. Drybrush around lower doors in stone archways with Light Gray then
highlight with White.
5.
Heavily drybrush dirt with Chocolate. Highlight with Mink then tip into
White to further highlight. Indicate “tracks” by drybrushing a bit heavier in
this area.
6.
Apply White Cloud to lower, trim and dormer siding. Spray. Drybrush a
second and third coat over these same areas. Spray between coats. If needed,
drybrush with White to get even coverage.
7.
Use Holiday Red for upper and middle siding, lower window frames and
lower trim siding. Spray. Drybrush evenly with Christmas Red then tip into
Orange to lightly highlight. Tip into Marigold to further highlight lower part
of window frames. Spray.
8.
Lightly drybrush hinges and cross boards of doors with Venetian Gold.
Highlight nail heads with Shimmering Silver.
