General Directions: Begin with properly cleaned and fired 06 bisque.  Thin down White and apply over entire piece to get into all detail.  When dry, apply another coat of undiluted White.  Allow to dry.  Apply Hyacinth Blue in small areas wiping back for highlights until entire piece is covered.  Dampen a soft cloth with Solvent to wipe back further highlights.  Spray with Porcelain Mist to set TL.  Reminder: In this technique, sometimes more than 1 coat of TL is necessary.  Therefore, spray between each coat of color in order to not lift the first layer.

Technique

1.      Apply Black TL to the cobblestones, chimney flue and roof.  Apply Black Forest to the grass; wipe back highlights. Spray. Highlight grass Sunflower and Tangelo.   Randomly drybrush cobblestones Brick Red, Light Gray and Mink.  Lightly drybrush flue with Light Gray.  Evenly drybrush the cornerstones in rear with Light Gray then highlight with White.

2.      Apply Walnut to the foundation stones, chimney and walk-up brick.  Spray.  With Dark Brown, add a wash of color to a few stones.  Lightly drybrush the mentioned areas with Orange Rust.  Tip into Lt Yellow Orange to highlight then into White to further highlight.

3.      Apply a thin even coat of Gold Doe Skin to all siding and panels in front of house (do not forget the dormer).  Let this almost dry then apply a thin coat of Brandied Raspberry.  Gently wipe back leaving a “golden mauve” tint.  Spray.  Lightly drybrush with Light Gray to highlight edges.

4.      The burgundy color is a 2:1 mix of Old World Santa Red and Navy.  Create enough of this color to paint the door, upper eaves at top and sides, middle stripe of overhang, outer trim of windows, trims of front door and second floor main window, accents of French door on rear and top of each pillar.  Highlight these areas with Orange Rust then tip into Lt Yellow Orange to further highlight.

5.      Heavily drybrush porch and pillars with White.  Paint remaining trim with White as well; refer to photo as needed for color placements.  Spray.

6.      Apply 2 coats of Glorious Gold to the middle band at the top eave, band on pillars and corner trims of all windows.
