In Marianville, sometimes things get rough. If you listen closely, you just might hear the piano belting out a tune from the Little Brown Jug Saloon.  And if you get bored, Lucy's place is right atop the stairs.

1901 Saloon

General:. Base coat fired 04-06 bisque with 2 coats of White Acrylic. Thin first coat with 1/3 water. Using a soft brush, scrub over entire piece, getting into all cracks and crevices. Apply a second coat of White Acrylic full strength. After each application of a translucent stain (TL), spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. This will set the color to avoid smudging.

1. Apply Hyacinth Blue to entire piece. Allow to dry until tacky. Wipe back, allowing for shading and detail. Spray.

2. Apply Coal Gray to the roof. Wipe back allowing for shading and detail. Spray. Highlight by dry brushing with Dark Blue and then lightly with Eggshell.

3. Apply heavy coat of White Cloud to walls. Wipe back until the walls look old and weathered. Spray. Dry brush with Eggshell and White Acrylic to achieve the weathered look.

4. Apply Dark Pewter to chimney. Apply Black Forest to the grass. Highlight with Sunflower and Red Clay respectively. Wipe back until you get desired effect. Spray. Paint curtains with Antique Ivory. Spray.

5. Using a dry brush, rub Avocado onto windows and front trim to achieve a weathered look. Spray. With a dry brush, rub Ginger Oak onto the doors to look weathered. Spray.

6. With a dry brush, rub Warm Gray onto the porches to make them look old and weathered. Spray.

7.  Dry brush 1871 and Lucy signs with Antique Ivory. Spray with Porcelain Mist, allow to dry. Paint the numbers and letters with Flat Black using a small detail brush. Paint "Little Brown Jug" sign with Warm Gray. Spray and allow to dry. Dry brush letters and sign trim with Sunflower. Spray and allow to dry.

8.  Using a dry brush, rub Ginger Oak Translucent stain onto the doors and staircase to look weathered and old. Spray with Porcelain Mist and allow to dry. Dry brush doors and staircase lightly with Eggshell. Paint doorknob White Acrylic and hinges Flat Black.

8. Apply Ginger Oak to stones and wipe back. Spray. Randomly paint some stones with Red Clay, Warm Gray and Blue Smoke. Do Not wipe back. Spray entire piece, allow to dry.

1901 Saloon

1. Apply Warm Gray to entire piece. Allow to dry until tacky. Wipe back allowing for shading to get the desired effect. Spray.

2. Apply Red Clay to the roof, let dry until tacky. Wipe back to desired effect. Spray.

3. Apply Ginger Oak to the walls. Allow to dry until tacky. Wipe back to get proper shading. Spray.

4. Paint the chimney Dark Pewter.

5. Paint windows, door frames and porch railings with Sunflower, wipe back. Spray. 6. Paint curtains Turquoise. Apply Black Forest to all the grass. Highlight with Tangelo and Sunflower. Wipe back lightly. Spray grass and curtains. Dry brush curtains with Vanilla Ice to highlight.

7. Dry brush roof with Brick Red and then dry brush with Vanilla Ice.

8. Dry brush clapboard with Dusty Gray and dry brush with Vanilla Ice. Apply Sunflower to wood trim and wipe back to the desired effect. Spray.

9. Dry brush porch, steps and railing Dark Umber then dry brush with Medium Mocha and dry brush with Eggshell.

10. Dry brush signs Dusty Gray. Paint lettering, numbers, hinges, and door knobs with Flat Black.

11. Dry brush eaves with Dark Umber. Dry brush stones randomly with Brick Red, Dark Umber, Dusty Gray and Golden Ochre. Spray entire piece with Porcelain Mist and let dry.

* People, lamp posts, and other props used for photography are not available in ceramic molds.

Note: If you find a color that is discontinued, ask your Mayco distributor for a suitable replacement.
